Simplified Procedure for determining the BAL - Method 1
Designated Bushfire Prone Areas, up to 20 degrees slope downslope

OR

Detailed Method for determining the BAL - Method 2 (Appendix B)
Method 2 is a complex methodology and can be used for steeper sites up to 30 degrees downslope.

Bushfire Management Overlay (BMO)

We can undertake your BMO site and vegetation assessment and
address all three Application Requirements of cls. 44.06 & 53.02 being:
A Bushfire Hazard Site Assessment
A Bushfire Hazard Landscape Assessment
A Bushfire Management Statement (BMS)
and also include:
A Bushfire Management Plan (BMP)

Bushfire Risk Assessments under PPF 13.02
Strategic and Settlement Planning, Land Use Planning.
Experts' reports for planning scheme amendments/rezoning applications.
Use and development applications in a Bushfire Prone Area.

OR

Experts' Reports
for presentation at VCAT, the Building Appeals Board or Panel Hearings

The written report will be suitable for lodging with your Building Permit, Planning Permit, Development Application or Rezoning application

Note: The BAL rating sets minimum standards for design and construction.
However we would always recommend that you should
endeavor to comply with higher levels of protection.
